Renewal of IP Recordals

Renew your recordation each year and keep your IPR protected at the border.

About this service

IPR Recordation is renewable annually. The recordation of a trademark shall remain in force for a period of one year from the date of approval of the application for recordation or the current registration period of the trademark, whichever is shorter.

Apply for renewal within the 30 days before the expiry of the current recordation.

Who is it for?

  • IPR Owners with an active recordation nearing expiry
  • Admitted Agents renewing on behalf of an IPR Owner

  • Details of licensees, parent/subsidiary companies, foreign entities where applicable.
  • Countries of manufacture.

How it works

  1. 1AIMS emails renewal reminders 45, 30 and 0 days before expiry; your dashboard shows a “Renewal Due” flag.
  2. 2Sign in, open Renewals and select the recordal that is due.
  3. 3Review the pre-filled Form ACA 6B, update what changed and upload documents.
  4. 4Pay the renewal fee via e-Citizen to activate Submit.
  5. 5ACA compares your previous and new details side by side, then decides.
  6. 6Download your Renewal Certificate — the recordation number stays the same.
