Application for Admission as an IPR Agent

Apply for — and renew each year — admission to act for IPR owners before ACA.

About this service

An IPR owner may appoint a duly admitted agent to act on their behalf in matters relating to IPR Recordation. Persons seeking to act as IPR agents before the Authority must apply for admission and maintain their admission annually.

Who is it for?

  • IPR Owners appointing an agent (via Power of Attorney)
  • Agents applying for admission or renewing an existing admission

Required Documents & Information

  • A POA in Form ACA 15 that is stamped in accordance with the provisions of the Stamp Duty Act and certified as a true copy of the original
  • Provide either of the following:
    • Document demonstrating proof of membership to a statutory professional body
    • Document demonstrating compliance with the requirements set out under the Private Security Regulation Act, 2016.
    • Approved form ACA 19

How it works

  1. 1The IPR Owner searches the agent directory by name or admission number and uploads the POA.
  2. 2The owner pays the appointment fee via e-Citizen; the agent is notified to accept.
  3. 3Once accepted, the agent opens Form ACA 17 (Agent Admission) and uploads the supporting documents.
  4. 4The agent pays the admission fee; ACA reviews and admits the agent for one year.
  5. 5Renew before expiry with Form ACA 18 — AIMS sends reminders at 45, 30 and 0 days.

An Exemption Application (Form ACA 19) is made to ACA directly; an approved Form ACA 19 is then one of the documents you can provide with your admission, and an admission filed with it has no admission fee.
